Looking for a beginner knit piece that you can make quickly?
The Skye Scarf Set is the perfect fast beginner knit pattern! Plus, it comes with two full video tutorials and several picture aids!
Taking less than a day to make it, this beginner knit pattern is perfect for keeping you warm all season long!
This knit scarf and ear warmer set is beginner friendly and flies off the knitting needles with how fast it works up! The yarn is held double stranded, so it works up very quickly.
Plus, the yarn being held double stranded makes for an almost gradient-like color transition with one strand being one color and one strand being another for the color block transitions.
Made with simple stitches, this easy knit scarf is the perfect cold weather accessory for the season.

Made using Lion Brand Wool-Ease Aire yarn, this scarf set is extremely soft and warm!

DESCRIPTION
The Skye Scarf set includes a large, warm scarf and a twisted ear warmer.
The headband is worked flat and then seamed together to create the twist.
Three sizes are included in the ear warmer dependent on your head circumference.
It is the perfect knit ear warmer to keep you warm during the cold winter months.

The scarf uses three different colors and gradually transitions colors with different color blocks.
With the yarn held double stranded, the first color block uses two of the same strands of color, the next color block uses one strand of the first color and one strand of the new color, the third color block uses two strands of the same new color, etc.
It makes a gradual, gradient-like color transition that is really fun to choose colors for!
Simple stitches are used for the pattern, so it is a relaxing, enjoyable make.
And did you know that I made a sister CROCHET pattern to this knit pattern? You can check it out HERE.
YARN
The Skye Scarf Set is made using Wool-Ease Aire yarn by Lion Brand Yarn.
I used the color “Ice”, “Lilac”, and “Cotton Candy”.
I think these 3 colors are so beautiful, and I love how they look together! I’m curious to see how other colors would look paired with the two pinks. I think the next scarf I make I will try white as the third color!

Wool-Ease yarn always falls in my top 5 favorite yarns.
I was so excited when this new Wool-Ease Aire yarn was released.
Wool-Ease Aire is 74% acrylic, 13% wool, and 13% polyester with 218 yards/100 grams, which is a lot of yardage for a weight 6 yarn!
I did a full YouTube video tutorial of Wool-Ease Aire yarn, so check it out HERE if you want more pros and cons and to see more colors.
I used 3 skeins of Wool-Ease Aire yarn for about 180 yards, 175 yards, and 125 yards.
And if you want to keep in the loop of sales that Lion Brand Yarn is running, sign up for my newsletter because I’ll keep you in the loop for when the sale is good.
DIFFICULTY
The Skye Scarf Set is considered a beginner+ knit pattern.
The reason why it is considered a beginner+ pattern is because it can be hard to see your stitches sometimes using Wool-Ease Aire yarn. You will need to use your thumb and finger to feel for the stitches.
Don’t be initimidated by this, though! Because you cannot see the stitches easily, you also cannot see the stitches easily so it hides mistakes also.
The Seed Stitch is used through the majority of the pattern, which is alternating between purl 1 and knit 1.
It creates a nice texture and lays flat well.
The Skye Scarf Set comes with two video tutorials: one for the Skye Ear Warmer (see video HERE) + one for the Skye Scarf (see video below).
So go ahead and cozy up with a blanket while watching the tutorial.
