Looking for a quick crochet ornament to add some character to your Christmas Tree?
This is why I came up with these beginner-friendly BoHoHo Ornaments!
When looking for cute crochet ornaments, I was having trouble finding any that were modern and more of my style, so I decided to design 3 ornaments!
Need to save this to read later? Pin the image below!
Description
The 3 ornaments are fairly beginner-friendly. The trickiest part is crocheting around the wooden ring, but I have some Youtube Videos to help aid you, so you can feel confident knowing how to do it!
The Yarn
I love using Lily Sugar ‘N Cream yarn for these crochet ornaments. A rigid cotton yarn works best so that the ornaments can maintain their shape while hanging on the tree instead of looking floppy.
DIFFICULTY
This pattern is considered experienced beginner because you will be crocheting around a wooden ring.
Below is a video to show you exactly how to do that.
To make the ornaments, you will need-
MATERIALS
US G/4.0 mm crochet hook
20 yards of cotton yarn – Lily Sugar’n Cream “Ecru”
Two, 2″ wooden rings
One, 1″ wooden ring
Ten, 10 mm wooden beads
Size 16 Yarn Needle (needs to fit through beads and yarn)
GAUGE
8 sc sts = 2”
8 rows = 2”
FINISHED SIZE
(Including fringe)
4.5″ / 3″ x 5.5″ / 2″ x 4″
TERMINOLOGY
US Crochet Terms Used
ch – Chain
rem – remaining
st/sts – Stitch/Stitches
sl st – Slip Stitch
sc – single crochet
In this pattern, the ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
To unravel fringe, you can “comb” your needle through the strands rather than unraveling each piece by hand.
