Looking for a project to teach a new crocheter? Or are you new to crochet and looking for an easy crochet pattern?
I got you!
DESCRIPTION
The Beginner Keychain Wristlet is the perfect very first crochet project! It uses basic stitches, and is a smaller project, so you can practice learning crochet without being intimated by a larger project like a scarf or blanket.
It also only uses 16 yards of yarn, so it is a great stash busting project!
For this keychain, I used #4 worsted weight yarn. I chose Lion Brand Yarn Pima Cottonbecause it is a durable yarn that washes well if needed.
The colors I used in the pictures are “Dragonfly” “Spice”, and “Mineral Yellow”.
DIFFICULTY
This wristlet is considered a very first crochet project level easy. You will only be doing chains and single crochets in small rows, so it is a perfect project to practice working in rows with basic stitches.
A full video tutorial is also included, so scroll down if you learn better with video.
To make the Beginner Keychain Wristlet, you will need-
Row 1: sc 1 in 2nd ch from hook, sc across, turn (5 sts)
Rows 2-44: ch 1, sc across, turn (5 sts)
Row 45: ch 1, sc across (5 sts)
Fasten off leaving an 18” tail
Finishing
Step 1: Using a tapestry needle, weave in beginning tail
Step 2: Fold strip in half widthwise
Step 3: Using a tapestry needle and 18” tail, sew through both thicknesses around the lobster claw clasp across
Step 4: Sew back across for added security
Step 5: Weave in ends
And that’s how you make the Beginner Keychain Wristlet!
