I’m so excited to release this America the Beautiful Blanket in collaboration with Lion Brand Yarn!
Lion Brand is my favorite yarn to work with, and so I always enjoy collaborating with them to bring you free patterns!
DESCRIPTION
The America the Beautiful Blanket is a beautiful afghan made using corner to corner (c2c) crochet technique. Using 3 different colors, “America the Beautiful” is crocheted in navy with white as the backdrop. Red is bordered to allow for the traditional Red, White, and Blue colors for USA.
This is a great C2C blanket because there are not too many colors to jump between. The letters are small enough that when it is time to add an additional letter, it is nearly time to fasten off the previous letter. It is a fun make, and is readily doable with the chart and written instructions.
THE YARN
For this blanket, I used #4 worsted weight yarn. I chose Woolease from Lion Brand Yarn in the colors “Cranberry”, “Natural Heather”, and “Navy”.
Woolease is a tried-and-true classic yarn. It is easily accessible and can usually be found at all major yarn retailers. I love the warmth the yarn provides, but the c2c allows for the blanket to be breathable.
DIFFICULTY
This blanket is considered an intermediate pattern because of the multiple colors and the c2c technique.
Do not be intimidated by the c2c technique, though! I am working on a Youtube video outlining how to do c2c, so stay tuned!
If you want to be notified when I have a c2c video made, make sure you’re subscribed to my Youtube Channel!
